Pacific Energy Partners, L.P., (Pacific Energy Partners) is engaged principally in the business of gathering, transporting, storing, and distributing crude oil, refined products and other related products. The Company generates revenue primarily by transporting such commodities on its pipelines, by leasing capacity in its storage tanks, and by providing other terminaling services. The Company conducts its business through two business units, the West Coast Business Unit, which includes activities in California and the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area, and the Rocky Mountain Business Unit, which includes activities in five Rocky Mountain states and Alberta, Canada. The Company is managed by its general partner, Pacific Energy GP, LP, a Delaware limited partnership, which, prior to its conversion to a limited partnership, on March 3, 2005, was Pacific Energy GP, Inc., a corporation owned 100% by a subsidiary of The Anschutz Corporation (Anschutz). For the three months ended 31 March 2006, Pacific Energy Partners, L.P.'s revenues rose 43% to $70.5M. Net income applicable to unitholders totaled $11.6M, up from $5.1M. Revenues reflect increased pipeline transporation revenues on the Rocky Mountain pipelines and higher storage and distribution revenues on systems. Net income also reflects the absence of transaction costs, line 63 oil release costs & incentive plan compensation expense.
