Forest City Enterprises, Inc. (Forest City) is engaged in the ownership, development, management and acquisition of commercial and residential real estate properties in 25 states and the District of Columbia. The Company operates through three business units: Commercial Group, Residential Group and Land Development Group. Commercial Group owns, develops, acquires and operates regional malls, specialty/urban retail centers, office buildings, hotels and mixed-use projects. Residential Group owns, develops, acquires and operates residential rental properties, including upscale and middle-market apartments, adaptive re-use developments and supported-living communities. Land Development Group acquires and sells both land and developed lots to residential, commercial and industrial customers. Land Development Group also owns and develops land into master-planned communities and mixed-use projects. For the three months ended 30 April 2006, Forest City Enterprises, Inc.'s, revenues decreased 2% to $289.4M. Net income from continuing operations decreased 66% to $7.9M. Revenues reflect lower sales from Commercial Group Land division and decreased sales from Land Development Group division. Net income was partially offset by higher depreciation & amortization charges, increased operating expenses and higher interest expenses.
