Kimball International, Inc. provides a variety of products from its two business segments: the Furniture and Cabinets segment, and the Electronic Contract Assemblies segment. The Furniture and Cabinets segment provides furniture for the office and hospitality industries, sold under the Company's family of brand names. The Electronic Contract Assemblies segment provides engineering and manufacturing services, which utilize common production and support capabilities to a variety of industries globally. Production occurs in Company-owned or leased facilities located in the United States, Mexico, Thailand and Poland. In the United States, the Company has facilities and showrooms in 12 states and the District of Columbia. In June 2005, the Company announced a restructuring plan to consolidate its Mexican contract furniture and cabinets operations into one facility located in Juarez, Mexico. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2005, it exited the branded residential furniture business. For the nine months ended 31 March 2006, Kimball International's revenues increased 2% to $809.4M. Net income from cont. ops. before acct. change decreased 30% to $11.6M. Revenues reflect higher sales from the Furniture & Cabinets segment. Net income was offset by an increase in selling, general & administrative expenses, higher restructuring expenses and a decrease in non-operating income.
