WMS Industries Inc. designs, manufactures and markets gaming machines and video lottery terminals (VLTs). The Company's gaming machines feature graphics, digital sound and engaging game themes, and most incorporate secondary bonus rounds. Some of its games use licensed brands, such as MONOPOLY, HOLLYWOOD SQUARES and MEN IN BLACK. The Company conducts its gaming machine business through its subsidiary, WMS Gaming Inc. (WMS Gaming), which markets its products under the WMS Gaming trademark. The products it offers for sale consist of multi-coin, multi-line video gaming machines and some mechanical reel-spinning slot machines. Its video gaming machines include engaging themes, advanced graphics and digital sound effects and music. Its participation game installed base consisted of 6, 539 gaming machines as of June 30, 2005. For the nine months ended 31 March 2006, WMS Industries Inc.'s revenues rose 19% to $328.5M. Net income increased 73% to $23.3M. Revenues reflect increased participation revenue, higher product sales due to higher demand for gaming products and an increase in parts, used games, conversions and OEM revenues. Net income also benefited from improved operating margins and lower research and development costs.
