As of April 14, 2006, the Company operated 191 Company-owned retail stores in 20 states, averaging approximately 11,500 square feet and designed to provide customers with an easy and convenient shopping experience in a fun and festive environment. The stores carry a range of merchandising solutions with over 36,000 stock keeping units in six major merchandising categories: Party Solutions, Greeting Cards, Gift Wrap, Balloons, Seasonal Events and Special Occasion Merchandise. Factory Card & Party Outlet operates its business together with its subsidiary Factory Card Outlet of America Ltd. For the 13 weeks ended 29 April 2006, Factory Card & Party Outlet Corp.'s revenues rose 2% to $57M. Net income fell 69% to $112K. Revenues reflect increase in store counts. Net income was offset by increase in cost of sales, higher depreciation, increase in selling, general & administrative expense due to an increase in store payroll & store general expense and increase in interest expense resulting from higher average borrowing levels.
