ConocoPhillips (ConocoPhillips) is an international, integrated energy company. The business is organized into six operating segments: Exploration and Production (E&P) segment primarily explores for, produces and markets crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids on a worldwide basis; Midstream segment gathers and processes natural gas produced by ConocoPhillips and others, and fractionates and markets natural gas liquids, primarily in the United States, Canada and Trinidad; Refining and Marketing (R&M) segment purchases, refines, markets and transports crude oil and petroleum products, mainly in the United States, Europe and Asia; LUKOIL Investment segment consists of its equity investment in OAO LUKOIL, an international, integrated oil and gas company in Russia; Chemicals segment manufactures and markets petrochemicals and plastics on a worldwide basis, and Emerging Businesses segment encompasses the development of new businesses beyond its traditional operations. For the six months ended 30 June 2006, ConocoPhillips's revenues increased 18% to $96.4B. Net income from continuing operations increased 40% to $8.48B. Revenues reflect higher realized crude oil prices and the inclusion of Burlington Resources' results. Net income also reflects increased gross profit margin and decreased exploration expenses. COP explores, produces & markets crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids.
