J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc. (JBHT) is primarily a holding company. Through its subsidiaries, the Company operates as a truckload, logistics and dedicated transportation services company throughout the continental United States, Canada and Mexico. JBHT's service offerings include transportation of full-truckload containerizable freight, which it directly transports using its Company-controlled revenue equipment and drivers, or independent contractors (ICs). The Company also provides customized freight movement, revenue equipment, labor and systems services that are designed to meet individual customers' requirements and typically involve long-term contracts. These arrangements are known as dedicated services, and include multiple pickups and drops, home deliveries, freight handling, specialized equipment and network design. JBHT operates in three business segments: full-truckload, dry-van (JBT), intermodal (JBI) and dedicated contract services (DCS). For the six months ended 30 June 2006, J.B.Hunt Transport Services, Inc.'s revenues increased 10% to $1.62B. Net income increased 2% to $104.3M. Revenues reflects an increase in fuel surcharge revenues. Net income was partially offset by an increase in salaries, wages & employee benefits, higher rents & purchased transportation expenses, increased depreciation & amortization charges and an increase in fuel & fuel taxes.
