During the fiscal year ended February 25, 2006 (fiscal 2006), it operated two segments: Domestic and International. The Domestic segment is comprised of all United States store and online operations, including Best Buy, Magnolia Audio Video and Geek Squad. The International segment is comprised of all Canadian store and online operations, including Future Shop, Best Buy and Geek Squad. The International segment offers products and services similar to those offered by the Domestic segment. For the thirteen weeks ended 27 May 2006, Best Buy Co. Inc.'s revenues rose 14% to $6.96B. Net income rose 38% to $234M. Revenues reflect higher sales due to addition of new stores, increased comparable store sales due to higher average transaction size and a favourable shift towards higher-ticket items. Net income also reflects improved gross margins and an increase in interest income primarily due to higher investment yields.
