Meridian Bioscience, Inc. (Meridian) is an integrated life science company engaged in the development, manufacture, sale and distribution of diagnostic test kits for respiratory, gastrointestinal, viral and parasitic diseases. The Company also manufactures and distributes antigens, antibodies and reagents. Meridian's operating segments are US Diagnostics, European Diagnostics and Life Science. The US Diagnostics operating segment consists of research and development, and manufacturing operations in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the sale and distribution of diagnostic test kits in the United States and countries outside of Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The European Diagnostics operating segment consists of the sale and distribution of diagnostic test kits in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. The Life Science operating segment consists of manufacturing operations in Memphis, Tennessee; Saco, Maine, and Boca Raton, Florida. On January 31, 2005, the Company acquired OEM Concepts, Inc. For the nine months ended 30 June 2006, Meridian Bioscience, Inc.'s revenues increase 17% to $79.8M. Net income increased 54% to $13.5M. Revenues reflect higher sales from U.S. Diagnostics segment, increased reveneus from Life Science segment and higher European Diagnostics revenues. Net income also reflects an increase in gross & operating margins and the inclusion of other income vs. other expenses.
