Evergreen Solar, Inc. (Evergreen Solar) develops, manufactures and markets solar power products enabled by its String Ribbon technology that provide reliable and environmentally clean electric power worldwide. String Ribbon technology is a process for manufacturing crystalline silicon wafers, which are the primary components of photovoltaic cells. Photovoltaic cells generate direct current electricity when exposed to sunlight. Solar power products in general are built-up through four stages of production: wafers, cells, modules and systems. For the three months ended 31 March 2006, Evergreen Solar, Inc.'s revenue increased 13% to $11.9M. Net loss totaled $8.1M, up from $3.2M. Revenues reflect higher product and research sales. Higher loss reflects an increase in research and development expenses and rise in selling, general and administrative expenses. Evergreen Solar, Inc. develops, manufactures & markets solar power cells, panels and systems.
