DUTIES: Assists offender patients with activities of daily living to include bathing, mouth care, dressing, toileting and clothing changes when incontinence occurs, ambulation and feeding. Obtains and records vital signs for review by staff nurse. Provides and assists with patient transfers and turning in bed. Report changes in patient skin condition and patient health care complaints to shift Registered Nurse. Empty catheter bags; offer fluids and record intake and output if required; apply external catheters. Talk with patients to keep oriented to person, place and time. Respond to call lights and offender requests for assistance. Assist with meal distribution. Change linens according to unit schedule. Assist patient with making of bed, picking up room, etc. when indicated. Maintain appropriate tool and materials control and accountability. Participate, as indicated, in development of patient plan of care. Works shifts and different rotations as needed to meet facility needs.
