The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, direct, administer and evaluate evidenced
based, outcome oriented patient care; provides for continual assessment of patient needs, implements
interventions, and evaluates care. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the supervision of the quality of
care performed by LPNs, Nursing Assistants and other assigned personnel. The Registered Nurse
participates in decision making activities related to nursing practices.
Essential Job Duties
1.
Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care on patients.
2.
Receives and communicates information.
3.
Directs patient care and unit activities.
4.
Provides teaching and guidance to patient, parents/guardians and staff members.
5.
Maintains equipment and supplies and organizes work area.
6.
Participates in performance improvement activities to provide evidence based care and support
nursing research.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Graduation from an approved nursing program; Bachelor’s Degree in
Nursing preferred.
Experience
One year experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification
RN Licensure by the Georgia State Board of Nursing.
