Processes physicians’ orders. Coordinates information relative to direct, diagnostic, therapeutic and indirect
patient care. Provides basic nursing care to patients and assists patients with activities of daily living.
Assists with the clerical and administrative operations of an assigned unit. Procures the necessary supplies,
equipment and materials for daily operations.
Essential Job Duties
1.
Transcribes physicians’ orders.
2.
Performs basic nursing care procedures according to documented training.
3.
Assists with admitting and orienting new patients to rooms.
4.
Takes and records vital signs on all patients as assigned.
5.
Turns patients and assists in ambulation as needed.
6.
Prepares patients for meals and assists with feeding.
7.
Transports patients to other departments as indicated.
8.
Observes and reports any changes in physical, emotional or mental status to appropriate nurse.
9.
Answers patients’ call lights and request for assistance.
10.
Answers telephone and perform administrative duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
