The Ground-Based Midcourse Defense Watch Officer (GWO) functions as the Director of Fielding and Operations (DFO) representative to monitor logistics and maintenance scheduling activities for the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) system for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). We conduct 24/7 operations in a Status Controller cell at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC). The GWO team identifies and analyzes GMD command, control, and communication system operating requirements and monitors the GMD system operations around the globe. GWO provides critical near-realtime status reports to the MDA and Joint Commands through secure sources and directly support the warfighter and the BMDS Watch Officer (BWO).
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Provide support to the Warfighter by tracking daily status of GMD operations in both development or operational system configuration; deconflicte tasks that would render the system unable to perform its primary missile defense mission.
