Job Title: CRITICAL CARE TECHNICIAN
REQUIREMENTS/DESCRIPTION: High School graduate or GED. Ability to comprehend medical terminology. CPR Certification or ability to acquire. Computer knowledge or willingness to learn computer skills. Previous hospital experience (six months) as a direct care provider. EKG, Phlebotomy competency within 480 hours required. Ability to perform detailed assignments and work under pressure and possesses a high level of interpersonal communication skills to relate to patients, hospital staff and visitors. Department: R-3 MED/SURG
The mission of this unit is to promote cardiac wellness through assessment, monitoring and education in the immediate, intermediate and recovery phase of the critically ill. The unit is comprised of 30 telemetry and six step-down beds. Patients cared for on R3 include those requiring telemetry monitoring, antiarrhthmic and/or vasoacative IV therapy cardioversion, post cardiac catheterization care, and specialized care post CCU/ICU care.
