HOT JOB* This is a great opportunity for a Junior to Mid-Level Engineer!
The role of the Finite Element Analyst is mainly to perform finite element simulations and method development for aerospace structures, including stress/buckling analysis, structural optimization, and damage tolerance assessment. This position also requires some understanding of manufacturing methods and will require excellent teamwork skills to contribute to the project teams throughout the development process. This position is designed as a salaried position for BG Smith & Associates to work under customer contract (NASA) with an expectation to represent the employer as an excellent ambassador with little supervision provided.
Education
* A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering.
* A Masters degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering is a considerable plus.
Required
* Proof of U.S. citizenship.
* At least 2 years experience with Finite Element Analysis, preferably with ABAQUS, is required.
* Experience using Patran, FEMAP, or ABAQUS/CAE.
* Good classical stress/deflection analysis techniques.
