Job Purpose:

To develop, evaluate, and document new product concepts, test configurations, assembly processes, and assembly equipment.  Responsibilities include project management and the ability to work on and with a cross-functional team(s) to accomplish the team’s defined project scope.

Position Responsibilities: (Key responsibilities, authorities, and inter-relationships)

·          Performs technical tasks including: conceiving, designing, prototyping and evaluating new product concepts.

·          Conduct design of experiments, gather results, analyze, draw conclusions, make recommendations.

·          Documentation and support information as required by the Product Development Process

·          Develop test methods and test equipment for product evaluation testing.

·          Input in the project plan(s) which includes timing of tasks, resource planning, budgeting, and product cost.

·          Develop assembly methods to build prototype and product qualification samples.

·          Coordinate and/or conduct prototype builds and evaluations.

·          Supervise and direct associate engineers and technician staff.
