JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and formulating positions on federal and state legislation, regulations, and other national and local industry initiatives that present significant implications to Government Programs regarding benefit design, product performance and business strategy.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Reviews legislation and legislative proposals to identify strategic issues impacting business plans. Effectively assesses the affect of legislation and compliance requirements by maintaining a thorough and comprehensive understanding of plan business interests and practices. Provide analysis and guidance of federal regulation with state requirements highlighting areas of overlap.
2. Manages projects within assigned regulatory and legislative areas from inception to implementation, including identification, policy and legislative or regulatory analysis, development of implementation plans, development of educational materials, and monitoring of expected results.
