Manages and participates in updating, supporting existing products and developing products related to existing products. Works closely with manufacturing, quality and marketing managers to prioritize project efforts. Works closely with manufacturing, quality and marketing managers to translate product requirements into technical product specifications.  Provide leadership and management for development projects. Create technical schedule for project, ensuring project remains on timeline by monitoring progress of development and early identification and resolution of engineering issues.  Drive technical project to completion by ensuring overall technical design of the product meets customer/market requirements, overseeing project, and maximizing project resources to ensure milestones are met on a timely basis. Interact with other managers on issues including product requirements, and related corrective actions that could affect the timeline of the project.  Ensures technical decisions are appropriate to meet marketing requirements and cost-effective manufacturing requirements.
