Under general supervision, repairs, rebuilds or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, motorcycles or tractors.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

1. Performs preventive maintenance on vehicles.
2. Diagnoses the source of trouble and determines the extent of repairs required.
3. Replaces worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bear-ings, or other engine parts.
4. Grinds and adjusts valves.
5. Rebuilds carburetors.
6. Overhauls transmissions.
7. Repairs fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems.
