Loss Mitigation Specialist · New Britain, CT
A local mortgage company has a temporary to permanent opening as a loss mitigation
specialist:
Department: Collections
Reports to: Collections Supervisor
Education: High School or Equivalent
Experience: One year related job experience, Customer Service background
Purpose of Position: To implement loss mitigation programs offered by investors Insurers
Responsibilities:
1. Advise delinquent borrowers of the loss mitigation programs available to them.
2. Prepare all qualification paper work including the preparation of subordinate notes and
deeds.
3. Maintain complete files for the loss mitigation program that best suits the delinquent
borrower.
4. Insure that all investor/insurer guidelines and timeframes have been met.
5. Update comments in the computer system to reflect the loss mitigation process on the
loan.
6. Assist borrowers who may come to the office for face-to-face discussion.
7. Remain current on all loss mitigation changes which develop on the local and national
level.
8. Prepare information necessary for the Claims Specialist to file loss mitigation claims
promptly and accurately.
9. Track number of loss mitigation options used over life of the loan.
