For twenty years, I have been in management positions in various fields. I spent 12 years in banking and finance and obtained my first management job with WBTW-TV 13 as Business Manager. While there, I became very interested in marketing and public relations, and this interest was encouraged by the station's general manager. In 1992, I became Executive Director of the Pee Dee Education Foundation. During my 6 years there, the Foundation grew significantly--both in donors and public recognition as a change agent for public education. For a short-time, I worked in the long-term care field, only to return to an education related job a short time later. In 2000, I became a grant writer/evaluator for Research Associates, Inc. in Columbia, SC. Over my seven plus years there, I advanced to the position of Senior Vice President, overseeing the daily operations of the grants and evaluation divisions.
